Franklin, Massachusetts Social Security Disability Benefits Attorney
Unfortunately, a great number of valid applications for Social Security Disability (SSD) benefits are denied every year by the Social Security Administration. Luckily, a denial does not have to mean the end of your claim. At Law Offices of Ira C. Yellin, LLC, we can help you appeal a denied disability claim and secure the benefits you need when your disability keeps you from working.

Appeals Process in Massachusetts
There are four stages of appeal for Social Security Disability claims. We can guide you through the process and help you get the benefits you need, regardless of the stage you are at:
- Reconsideration — The first level of appeal is known as reconsideration. At this stage, your application is reviewed again to determine whether you are eligible for benefits. The claims examiner will look at your application and any corresponding medical records to make this determination.
- Administrative hearing — If your claim is denied at the reconsideration stage, you can apply for a hearing before an Administrative Law judge. Similar to a trial, we can represent you at the hearing and present evidence on your behalf.
- Appeals Council —The next level of appeal involves a review by the Appeals Council. At this stage, our attorney can submit an appeal to the council and the council can choose to grant you benefits, deny your claim or send your case back to the Administrative Law Judge.
- Federal court — When all else fails, we can pursue your appeal through the federal court system.
